My Volunteer Commitment
It was when I joined ESAIP in the 2nd year that my personal commitment within the institution began.
My project “The Purists” is a concrete implementation of an idea that we had with students in ING 2 and ING 4 aimed at forming a music band.
After much deliberation, it was in January 2023 that we decided to name the band “The Purists”
And this in reference to the style we wished to give ourselves. It is a return to the 80s – 90s when the band Genesis led by Phil Collins was in full swing with its original creations.
The Purists is a return to the roots of that era where we transitioned from the orchestral and purely instrumental age to that of synthesizers and complex sounds, as with Depeche Mode, Talk Talk, Alan Parsons Project, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, The Pet Shop Boys, a-ha…
My mission was to coordinate the group, direct its musical repertoire and its schedule.
Since January 25, 2023, every Thursday, from 6 PM until midnight, the band rehearsed in the coworking room.
I was thus able to prepare performances of the music that inspires me day after day: the music of the 80s.
At the request of the director in 2023, we were able to prepare an end-of-year concert.
Better than words, here is a short retrospective of these various missions during the 2023-2024 period.
Upon returning from my Erasmus stay in Finland, I changed campuses and here I am now in Angers. Here, I was able to form a new music band that shares all my musical values, from Elton John to Supertramp.
The new academic year started off very well with a concert at an open stage at the V&B Wine Bar in Angers, and other events are on the horizon!
What more can I say?
I am also looking for musicians in Angers to expand the band’s lineup.
So be it, anyone interested should contact me to share this vast domain that is music!
Skills Analysis & Stepping Back
On the collective level, our objectives were first and foremost to collaborate and coordinate so that our instruments in concert would form a homogeneous and audible ensemble. It was also a matter of increased time management in order to prepare each instrumental part per artist so that at the beginning of each rehearsal, each member only had to integrate their instrumental part to form a complete performance.
On the individual level, it was primarily a leadership objective that took shape throughout this project, but also a more personal objective which was to fulfill my dream: to found a music band and organize concerts.
It was also about conflict management with the disagreements of certain members of our music band. I had to make choices, regretted later, but as the expression goes, “You learn by doing”!
In terms of skills and qualities developed, it was in the field of marketing and visual promotion that I was able to progress the most. Being of a discreet nature, it was thanks to my right-hand people that I was able to develop a certain confidence in order to publicize our musical performances. In terms of values, this project embraced the Lasallian values of ESAIP based on sharing, group cohesion, and the discovery of unknown musical domains.
2024-2025 Academic Year – Technical Projects and Cybersecurity
In 2024-2025, my commitment continued with an intensification of my participation in cybersecurity and systems engineering projects. In an increasingly connected world, I wanted to place myself at the heart of tomorrow’s critical systems.
As a member of the organizing committee of the ESAIP CTF 2024, I contributed to the creation of technical challenges around cryptography, system vulnerabilities, and embedded systems. This experience allowed me to develop my skills in educational design and offensive security.
Furthermore, I deepened my work on the Cyberrange platform, developed in partnership with Airbus. This simulation environment allowed me to execute realistic attacks on virtual infrastructures to test the robustness of systems and train students in cybersecurity.
My goal for summer 2025 is to design a complete demonstrator for connected objects (IoT) and industrial systems. This demonstrator will simulate cyberattacks, propose response scenarios, and integrate an educational interface dedicated to learning and hands-on experience with risks in industrial environments.
This approach allows me to merge my technical expertise, my sense of knowledge transfer, and a keen awareness of contemporary digital challenges.
Human Values
This project is the very embodiment of ESAIP’s values and the Lasallian spirit: sharing, mutual support, transmission. Thanks to the group’s energy, mutual listening, and our willingness to share with the student community, we brought to life an initiative that combines passion and purpose.
